Called Business Conference

There will be a brief called business conference during the 11 am service on Sunday, January 4th, for the purpose of updating the congregation on the process of land acquisition. There has been a slight modification in the proposal for acquiring the Dickens Property. A vote of the congregation is necessary to approve the changes.

New funeral plans for Joyce Jones

The funeral for Joyce Jones was postponed on Thursday because her husband was suddenly hospitalized with a life-threatening illness. Bryant is better, but still in ICU at WakeMed, Cary.

The funeral for Joyce will take place on Monday, December 15, 2008, at 2:00 pm at Swift Creek Baptist Church.

Funeral Arrangements for Joyce Jones

Joyce Elaine Jones (September 3, 1938 - December 6, 2008)

Joyce Elaine Cochran Jones of Cary died unexpectedly at her home Saturday December 6th, 2008. A native of Clewiston, Fla., she was born to the late Ruth Marshman Cochran and Trilton Earnest Cochran.

She was married to Braxton Bryant Jones and is also survived by one son, Trilton Braxton Jones and his wife Sandy Roach Jones; grandchildren: Logan, Trilton and Luke Jones; sister in law, Marbeth Cochran; a niece, three nephews, and numerous cousins.

She enjoyed bowling, crafts and her grandchildren. Joyce was truly a champion caregiver to her husband of 53 years.

A service celebrating her life and home going will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday December 10th in the Swift Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Tuesday December 9th at the Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. in Apex.
